This Saturday our Quakes will be facing off against Houston, and even though Kamara, Robinson and Ching won’t be playing I expect it to get pretty rough out there. Our rivalry with Houston has been building ever since the friendly at Kezar in SF last year. Despite the disappointing loss this last Saturday I’m hopeful that our boys will shake it off for next Saturday and Frank will shake them up this week in practice. A depleted Houston roster with the aforementioned scratches and the loss of DeRo to TFC won’t hurt our chances either.

Pre-Game Meetup:
We will be meeting at Round Table Pizza again this Saturday pre-game starting at 5:30. If you are getting there early, please come by and meet up with fellow Casbah members/Quakes fans and enjoy some pizza and drinks. And even if you’re not a Casbah member feel free to come by and find out what the Casbah is all about.
“Bring a friend to the Casbah”:
I’m hoping that this season we can really expand the Casbah with people as passionate about the Quakes as we are. Its been kind of difficult for me to describe to people how much fun the experience of being in the Casbah is. It an experience that you can’t get at any other sporting event (but I’m sure the black hole probably comes close). The best way I can think of is to bring them to a game and let them see it for themselves. So this season I’m hoping that every one in the Casbah will bring a friend (or a few) to some Quakes games this season. And hopefully they have a good time and decide to join. If you do bring someone, please stop by and see me before the game or at half time. For each person and each game that you bring someone I’ll count that as an entry to win a Quakes jersey. (I’m working on making this an autographed jersey). The drawing will be mid-season, 7/25 at the DC game, just before the All Star Break. If if goes well we may do another for the second half of the season.
Keep the Casbah Rockin!!!
If you have any ideas for new songs, chants or other ways to make the Casbah better let up hear ‘em. Come by Round Table before the game and share your thoughts or you can e-mail me a questions@thecasbah.org
