A New Lucky Charm…

July 1st 2009

casbah

Some of you may or may not know, that I recently had a new little girl.  She was born the morning of 6/24/09, the day the US Nats shocked everyone and defeated the FIFA ranked number 1 team in the world, Spain.  Coincidence?….perhaps.  My new lucky charm and I will be watching the Quakes from home and hoping her luck can help our Quakes turn their season around.  And if things go well I may be able to bring her to her first Quakes game towards the end of the season, (a playoff game perhaps?)  Til then let’s keep Rockin’ the Casbah!

US Open Cup Game Wed 4/29

April 28th 2009

Let’s send Red Bull New York home without a chance to play in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup! The Quakes need you Wednesday night at Buck Shaw Stadium to help make that happen!

Season ticket holders – this is Bonus Game A. Use your Bonus Game A ticket and parking pass. There will be an exclusive autograph session for season ticket holders before the game; you should have received email from Kelsey about it.

Not a season ticket holder? Talk to someone who is, and they can bring you along for $10. Their ticket rep will have sent them a form to fax in for your $10 tickets.

It may not be a league game, so the attendance will be light, but let’s make some noise anyway and get our boys on track for some silverware in the US Open Cup!

Missing LandyCakes, aka Judas, aka Donovan

April 17th 2009

LA sans Beckham means Landon is Public Enemy #1.
Let’s not forget the man who turned his back on the Quakes and went to our most hated rival.  The man who helped to stop short our incredible ‘05 season and playoff run. Tomorrow let’s remind him how great the fans are here in the Bay and how much we hate the scum.

Quakes vs. LA 4/18 Info/Stadium Rules [UPDATED]

April 16th 2009

All,

The staff that operate the Coliseum are a different group then those that work at Buck Shaw.  So we have a different set of rules to follow for games there.  One upside is that tailgating is allowed at Buck Shaw.  The Casbah will be joining Club Quakes’ tailgate (Lot A, north side near handicap spaces) towards the front of LOT D.

 The major restrictions are:

No Confetti, no streamers (though this is now the rule at Buck Shaw as well), no flares, no throwing objects on the fields, no entering the field of play (aka no streaking :) ).

We will be handing out flyers with songs on them, PLEASE DO NOT TURN THEM INTO CONFETTI. I do not want anyone to get ejected over throwing confetti.

 See you all on Saturday,

 Mel

Quakes Victorious over Houston

April 2nd 2009

What a game…5 goals in about a 15 mintue period.  Any questions about the Quakes offensive capabilties after the season openner we’re answered last Saturday.  On the defensive end unfortunately we do not hold up so well.  Our guys did not look their best as Houston’s speedy wingers we a bit too much to handle.

This Sunday (12 PM PT on CSNCA) our guys will be taking on a struggling KC.  Hopefully we can keep our momentum from last Saturday and improve our defensive capabilites.  Though it was discuss last Saturday (and on the UTBB podcast) getting together at O’Flaherty’s to watch the game.  We will NOT be meeting up there as they will not be opening til 3PM and the game begins at 12PM.
