Calling all Casbah!!!

July 21st 2008 06:46 pm

Hey all,

Last home game I looked over our section and we seem’ed to be missing some of our usual Casbah faithful.  I know it had been months since the Boys played at home but if you didn’t come out, you missed….Frank getting tossed (first I’ve ever seen Frank get that PO’ed), a beautiful diving header by Johnson, and Nick Garcia sticking to the Colorado forwards.  And if the ref had actually been watching the play (and called the blantent foul on Hernandez) the score would have most likely stood at 1-0.  Now, with the infusion of Huckerby, Lima, and Sealy into the lineup.  This Sunday is sure to be a can’t miss game.  Couldn’t get to a bar on Saturday to watch the Toronto game.  So, I’m fired up to acutally get to see the new additions in action, and letting them hear us rock.

To support us the Front Office is re-offering the $10 tickets for friends and family of season ticket holders.  Contact Anthony Perry if you are interested. aperry@sjearthquakes.com  So see you all there…ROCKN’ THE CASBAH!!!

  1. Hear! Hear!, Very well said!

Half a season left, most of our matches with home field and home crowd advantage, not too much travel fatigue for the lads, we have our new starters to capitalize on the chances that are feed through for them.

I know there’s been a lot of talk about not making the play offs this year and instead working towards next season. I myself see the play offs as still being something to aim for, if we start winning some matches and other w.conf teams lose some then we could start to climb the ladder. The jar is half full right now. We need to stand loud and proud behind our team.

    WE BELIEVE!

    Go Quakes!

  2. Touchet!!! I concur, and though I live on the East Coast I own season tiks in our Casbah. I have made it to 2 home matches, 2 road matches and the Carolina Challenge Cup…I will see you all for the Revs and the Ultras road trip v Chivas USA. this is a great time to be a Quakes fan! Not only do we have the three new guys, we have opportunity to see the players we already have playing in a much better setting with more depth and a real homefield advantage!

  3. Right after the All-Star Game the majority of matches will be at home so now’s the time to start getting behind the team. Yes, the new acquisitions will have an impact in what is already a team that’s playing hard each game.

At least right now, these guys are competing and not being the typical expansion pushover. The postseason isn’t out of reach but it’s a longshot given how the Eastern teams are faring–might be at least five coming from that bracket. However, if the lads can finish out of the bottom three, or two, that will be a big accomplishment right there.

Still, the guys are playing their hearts out and that’s important–the defense at least has kept the team in the game rather than being shelled with goals every game. Now, if they can get the semblance of an offense going then maybe they can grab that very last spot but it’s going to take wins at this point.

Get your tickets today because it’s going to be a fun ride from now until the last weekend in October!
    Cheers!
